Sophie Jakimyszyn

Sophie Jakimyszyn graduated from The University of Sydney in 2012 and has since worked across a variety of paediatric settings, including homes, schools, and private practices. She is passionate about supporting children and families to grow, connect, and thrive through nature-based and adventure-led therapies in both individual and group environments.

Sophie is a Training Leader and Expert DIR-Floortime® Provider through the Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning (ICDL). She integrates this relationship-based model as the foundation of her therapeutic practice. Sophie has also completed extensive training in clinical reasoning, neuroscience, and interventions focused on sensory processing, motor and postural development, executive functioning, and social-emotional growth.

Sophie is deeply committed to neurodiversity-affirming practice and values approaches that honour each child’s unique strengths and ways of being.

Kahlie McLennan

Practice Manager

With over 15 years of experience as a Nurse and Paramedic, Kahlie brings a deep understanding of healthcare and family support to Adventure OT. Inspired by her own journey as a parent navigating systems for her neurodivergent children, Kahlie is passionate about making therapy and support services easier to access for other families.

In her role as Practice Manager, Kahlie is the go-to for guidance, advocacy, and reassurance—offering calm, compassionate support to families every step of the way. She also works hands-on with clients as an Allied Health Assistant, helping to deliver engaging, client-centred care.

When she’s not supporting families, you’ll find Kahlie enjoying time outdoors with her husband and two kids or playing (and coaching!) her favourite team sports.

Courtney Bishop

Allied Health Assistant

Courtney has recently completed her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and brings years of experience in both early education and disability support. Her work across these settings has deepened her passion for helping children feel seen, included, and capable in every aspect of their lives.

In 2025, Courtney is taking the next step in her professional journey by beginning her studies in Occupational Therapy. She’s excited to expand her skills and continue supporting neurodivergent children and their families through a strengths-based, inclusive approach.

Outside of work, you’ll likely find Courtney exploring bush tracks, reading a good book, or spending time with animals. Her calm presence, playful energy, and commitment to child-led therapy make her a much-loved member of the Adventure OT team.
